The recent merger of Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern railways not only formed a new company known as CPKC, but it also created single line service connecting the continent of North America. To discuss the benefits of this service and the new Class I railroad, we welcome CPKC Director of Business Development for Domestic Intermodal Melanie Kunz to this edition of InTek Freight & Logistics: The Podcast.
Melanie goes over how the merger has gone so far, the particular success they're already seeing with produce and protein via refrigerated intermodal crossing the border; the time, hassle, security and cargo handling savings of using their service to cross the Mexico-U.S. border; and much more. Plus, we talk about CPKC's efforts to combat climate change including the testing of new hydrogen fuel cell locomotives. And stay tuned to the end for a binge watch recommendation from our own Shelli Austin.
