Paper and packaging is an industry unto itself, but it ties in especially well with shipping and transportation. On episode 51 of InTek Freight & Logistics: The Podcast, Millcraft Paper Company President Greg Lovensheimer joins us to discuss what makes his field stand out, including the long-standing history of his company, and his family's background as well.
We go over the supply chain process of paper & packaging, which starts with managing healthy forests. He tells us how sustainability has always been a focus, with a greater emphasis today on making paper production as environmentally friendly as possible. Plus, we talk about market conditions, the many ways in which freight and paper products are intertwined, and we even hit on Greg's feelings about The Office and whether Dunder Mifflin reflects reality.
Greg also discusses how the industry works together through organizations like the National Paper Trade Association (NPTA) - for which he currently serves as Board Chair - and the American Forest and Paper Association (AF&PA) among others. And, what it's like to be the first non-family member to serve in a leadership role with Millcraft.
