Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine has selected InTek Freight & Logistics President Shelli Austin among its 3rd Annual Women in Supply Chain award winners.
The Women in Supply Chain award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network. This year’s list includes individuals from software and service providers, consultancies and academia, trucking and transportation firms, professional development agencies, sourcing and procurement divisions, and more, all who have helped supply chain clients and the supply chain community at large prepare to meet many of today’s—and tomorrow’s—challenges.
"I'm honored to receive this recognition from Supply & Demand Chain Executive," Austin said. "This award is just as much a reflection on the great team we have at InTek who put the work in to help our customers succeed each day, and others who have supported me and our business through the years."
Shelli co-founded what is now InTek with CEO Rick LaGore in 2003, purchasing the company together in 2016 to take their shared vision of a service-focused logistics company to a broader market. She's a recognized industry leader, with particular specializations in third party logistics (3PL) and intermodal freight. Shelli serves as Vice President of the Intermodal Association of North America board and was just appointed to the Chair position beginning next year. She has previously served on the Transportation Intermediaries Association board as well. Shelli runs InTek's operations team, working directly with customers on creative solutions to supply chain challenges. With a background as a shipper herself, Shelli has a broad view of freight and logistics needs from all sides.
"We're thrilled for Shelli to be acknowledged as the supply chain leader that she is," said LaGore. "Shelli's expertise and willingness to share her knowledge with others sets her apart, and this award speaks to how valuable she is to our business and the industry as a whole."
“This award, the winners and those who submitted nominations—both men and women—is a testament that supply chain organizations were already recognizing their female leaders; they just needed a better platform,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and Food Logistics. “This year, we received over 280 submissions. Almost 100 of those submissions came from men. I’m so proud of everyone who participated, both men and women. I’m proud to call these women mentors, role models and industry friends. I’m proud to interview them, support them and help promote their journey.”
